The presenter is Joe Dale, the CEO of the Ontario Disability Employment Network (ODEN). This workshop has been designed for families to assist them in preparing their loved one for future employment. Joe will be sharing some of the success stories and the highlights from ODEN and the people they have connected to employment over the past ten years. We will learn what families can do to prepare their loved one for future employment success. We will learn about best practises and how to navigate the service system. Joe has shared “It’s never too early to think about the future. A future that includes a job and a career. According to US research “the number one indicator of successful labour market attachment for young people with disabilities, upon graduation from school, is having had a paid job while in high school”.
