City of Toronto Outdoor Recreation Programs

The City of Toronto is putting together two new FREE programs beginning July 20 and running for the rest of the summer.


ParksPlayTO is a new free drop-in program that offers fun for the whole family at select park locations around the city. Families will participate in a two hour program, offered in morning or afternoon sessions and including activities such as nature and gardening, active games, arts and crafts, family fitness, story-telling and music circles.  

The program is for children 12 and under who must be accompanied by a caregiver aged 18 or over.

Date: Monday to Friday all summer long

Time: Morning sessions begin at 9:15 a.m / Afternoon sessions begin at 1:30 p.m.

Please plan to arrive 15 minutes before program start for health screening and sign-in.

Programs are approximately 2.5 hours long. No registration required!

Summer in the 6ix

Summer in the 6IX is a free program for youth aged 13-24 to drop-in, meet up with friends and do some fun, themed activities. Summer in the 6IX is providing drop-ins for leadership, employment, arts, media, dance, fitness, eco/environmental and sport. Just pick the activities most interesting to you and plan your week.

There are three session times offered per day at multiple locations across the city, seven days a week. Please check the map to know where and when the program will be!
