Community Living Ontario (CLO) Youth Advisors Cameron Stanger and Olivia Wiles, along with project coordinator Emily Branje and Board member Michael Jacques, will be presenting a session on youth engagement at this year’s #CanadaWeWant youth conference.
Moving youth from a participatory role to a leadership role is critical for all programs, services, and initiatives that impact youth. Both youth and organizations that serve youth agree that youth engagement is essential. However, we often hear about the challenges of sustaining youth engagement and the yearning for greater collective impact in the youth-serving sector.
Community Living Ontario’s youth-led initiative Re:Action4Inclusion brings young people, with and without a disability, together to drive community change and empower youth as informed community leaders. Join us, as we delve into some innovative approaches to youth engagement and hear about lessons that we have learned over the past 11 years. This isn’t just a presentation, but an interactive discussion about community development practices that are intentional about leveraging the leadership of youth who have a disability. We are looking forward to finding more ways to work together to inspire youth to take charge of their ideas for change!
