Are you a self-advocate living in Toronto that identifies as having an intellectual or developmental disability? Do you want to attend a self-advocates meeting with Respecting Rights?
Respecting Rights is a project at ARCH Disability Law Centre led by people labeled with an intellectual or developmental disability. Respecting Rights Toronto hosts monthly self-advocates meetings for adults who live in the Toronto area. In these meetings, we talk about disability rights issues that are important to you.
In 2005, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) became law. This law said that by 2025, Ontario needed to be accessible for people with disabilities. Unfortunately, Ontario did not meet this goal.
At our meeting on Friday November 29th at 1:00pm, we will be talking about the AODA – what is it? Why is it important? We will also talk about why accessibility is important.
If you would like to attend the meeting email Jessica Field at Jessica.field@arch.clcj.ca
ARCH is a scent-free environment. When joining these meetings, please do not wear strong smelling perfume, deodorant, cologne or any other scent that may bother other meeting participants. Thank you.
