My name is Ryan and I am an only child and currently live with my parents. I’m interested in meeting a potential housemate to live with in Toronto.
I’m a good communicator and listener. I can convey my ideas and express myself clearly. I listen to and respect the opinion of others. I’m kind, easy-going, have a good sense of humor and enjoy sharing laughter with the people around me. I enjoy the company of others. I have strong interpersonal skills and find meeting new people and building connections a strong skill of mine.
I need support with some activities that require strong fine motor skills such as cutting and preparing food. Support around hot surfaces such as stoves, ovens, and other hot appliances.
My most preferred locations to live in the city are North York, York or Midtown neighborhoods because:
These are neighborhoods with which I am familiar – grocery, restaurants, stores, banks, pharmacies, dental office, etc. Any neighborhood that is fully transit-accessible is essential as I do not drive.
I hope that… My housemates would be:
- Welcoming
- Friendly
- Kind
- Inclusive
- Helpful/Supportive
Other hopes:
- My housemates and caregivers/support network would make me feel like I’m part of the household and not exclude me from activities and decisions.
It would be difficult to…
Live with a housemate who: (describe actions or characteristics)
- Unmotivated/ not helpful
- Ignoring me or does not speak to me if they have verbal skills
- Struggle with emotional regulation or appropriately dealing with anger/frustration
- Argumentative/Aggressive/ contentious
- Unwilling to share.
