Social Outings! (15 to 22 years old)

A co-ed social group for teens and young adults diagnosed with ASD, learning disabilities and other special needs ( 15-22 years old). Adolescents who have difficulties dealing with group dynamics and social interactions will be given the opportunity to spend a “social evening” in a supportive environment with the guidance of trained staff. Outings will take place in a recreational setting, supervised by trained young adults once or twice a month with their peers.

The ideal participant is an individual who has a diagnosis of high functioning autism and a  well developed verbal repertoire who experiences difficulties navigating social situations and maintaining conversations.

Participants will be grouped based on their skill levels.

  • Participants must be fully communicative and independent
  • No disrespectful, violent or disruptive behavior will be tolerated
  • Participants must be open to trying to engage with other young people with the support provided

Activities may include:

  • Bowling
  • Karaoke
  • Rock Climbing
  • Laser Tag
  • Board Game Cafe
  • Movie
