The Social Alley takes pride in our inclusivity, to everyone who comes into our facility. We give the ability to learn, in many different ways! We get to know each individual on a personal level and create a personalized learning environment of success. The Social Alley is a space for those who are looking for a place of inclusion, and acceptance to be themselves, no matter what their abilities are.  We offer learning opportunities through each individual’s interests to create the most exciting, welcoming, learning environment that fosters lifelong friendships.

Our mission is to create a safe space provided by the most passionate and encouraging staff. The Social Alley shows those involved how to be the best version of themselves and what they are truly capable of with the right support set in place.

Respect, independence, quality relationships, and the ability to succeed, is what we strive for here at The Social Alley. Our passion is to help create your best possible self while striving for independence. For those who are eligible, we help create a career path with job opportunities and resume building. The opportunities within our learning environment are endless, as we are open to adapting in many ways to meet everyone’s needs for many ages and abilities.

Social Events:

For those who are involved in our services, we provide weekly social nights. The social nights include fun activities while having the opportunity to socialize with others in a safe and welcoming environment. These events promote lifelong friendships! Some activities include; paint nights, board game nights, social outings, and more.

Employment Preparation:

Our employment preparation includes; 1:1 resume building, mock interviews, basic job readiness, and handing out resumes for possible future employment. We help build the confidence of our clients to guide them in a direction of success

Life Skills:

Our 1:1 life skills training is customized to each and every one of our client’s and their family’s needs. We provide services to help enhance our client’s independence in their everyday living. Some life skills include; general hygiene, independence, problem-solving, self-confidence, gratitude, healthy living transportation, creating a routine and more!

Social Skills:

We provide in-depth detail on; overall communication skills and how to apply them, gaining and maintaining relationships with others, the basic ways to respond within a social environment, understanding feelings/emotions, body language, and more!

This program is suitable for you if you:

  • Are looking to gain independence and self-confidence in your everyday life
  • Needing 1:1 support with mastering a certain task
  • Need extra support with learning new tasks
  • Want to continue your learning in a safe and encouraging environment
  • Looking to gain the knowledge in preparing for the work-field
  • Looking to gain skills in building and maintaining relationships
  • Gaining skills in structuring your days with routines and schedules to help master your everyday life to its fullest

This program is not suitable for you if you:

  • Require toileting/lifts and transfers
  • Have significant behavioural issues

Program Hours: Monday- Thursday | 8:00am – 6:00pm

We provide packages on skill-building in many topics like:

  • Communication skills
  • Self- Regulation/ Emotions
  • Relationship Building/Maintaining
  • Problem Solving
  • Community Involvement
  • Independent Living
  • Living a Healthy Lifestyle/Nutrition
  • Transportation
  • All about employment/life skills
  • Resume building
  • Mock interviews
  • Handing out resumes to future possible employers

These topics can be combined into a package to provide the most successful learning opportunity for you and your family. Once we have created this package for you, we can present you with a price and program length that is suitable for everyone.
