Virtual Mindfulness Opportunities

Mindfulness programs, designed for healthcare leaders, caregivers, and frontline professionals. These free programs, led by mindfulness expert Sue Hutton, aim to help participants reduce stress and enhance well-being.

Intro to the RDSP

The Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP) is a made-in-Canada, long-term savings plan designed specifically for people with disabilities. Whether you recently opened an RDSP or are thinking of starting one, P4P’s Introduction to the RDSP webcast is a great place to learn more. Join us for one of our winter sessions below to gain valuable insights and guidance.

The Power of Relationships: Strengthening Your Support Network as a Family Caregiver

Wednesday, January 22, 2025 | 6:30 – 8:00 pm

Relationships are key to a long, healthy and fulfilling life – for you and your family members! Co-hosted by Ontario Caregiver Association’s Katie Muirhead and Microboards Ontario Board Director Alice Mainland, this workshop will provide tips, strategies and real life experience about building relationships that last. You’d be surprised where you can find them!

SAAAC’s Healthy Living Program

This program is designed to support young adults on the autism spectrum in leading active and healthy lives. Over 11 weeks, participants and their caregivers will learn strategies for fitness, healthy eating, and social skills building, guided by health and wellness experts.

Key Details:

  • Format: In-person group sessions (5 participants per session)
  • Duration: 11 weeks, 1 session per week, 1 hour each
  • Dates: Every Wednesday from January 22nd to April 2nd
  • Times:
  • Session 1: 5:30 PM – 6:15 PM
  • Session 2: 6:30 PM – 7:15 PM
  • Cost: $5 per class
  • Eligibility: Participants must be aged 13-26, have a diagnosis of autism, and their caregivers are welcome to join coaching sessions.

Participants will explore fitness and movement, meal preparation strategies, and social skills development—all within a supportive environment.

March Break Overnite Camp

Monday March 10th to Friday 14th, 2025

This is a funded overnight camp for children who have a diagnosis of Intellectual Disability. This unique camp opportunity is available for children ages 7 to 17 who would like to try an overnight camp for the first time. The camp will be 5 days and 4 nights. Staffing ratio to child is 1:2 and children must reside with family in Toronto.

Activities Include

  • Sports: Hockey, basketball,
  • soccer, etc
  • Dress up, build forts, indoor
  • co-operative games
  • Music and dance parties
  • Fitness and wellness
  • Arts and crafts: Painting,
  • coloring, beading, tie-dye, etc
  • Playing board games
  • Reading books
  • Nature walks
  • Scavenger hunts
  • Campfires
  • Watching movies
  • Tobogganing and winter activities (weather permitting)

$150.00

Registered Caregiver Programs

Supporting Caregiver Awareness, Learning and Empowerment (SCALE) Program is back for the Winter 2025! This 8-week program aims to nurture mental health and wellness for caregivers by providing weekly psychoeducational webinars, as well as free online or individual counselling (optional).    

  • English runs Tuesday, February 4 to March 25
  • French runs Thursday, February 6 to March 27
