Hi Jenna
Just some food for thought. We tried the basement apartment thing with my daughter. She didn’t want to live in my basement – so it never happened. No matter how you try to arrange it – it is still your parents house.
In the end we found a townhouse, found some roommates – somethings though people come and go, and set it up with a live in facilitator to help them with various activities of the house. She has lived there for 4 years now and is extremely happy. She volunteers during the day, has a great social life and last year they started camping during the summer.
Hello Bonnie I also wanted to let you know there are some adult children only wants to move in into only her/his Mom’s basement or his/her Dad’s Basement in seprate houses. That is so great about your daugther is very happy and enjoys her social life and haning out with her roommates. I am sure your daugther comes and vists you at home sometimes like for dinner or spending the weekend with you.
