      Ask your provincial candidates:

If your party is elected, will you commit to ending the wait for funding and supports to people with a developmental disability and their families and stabilizing services by committing to the $810 million over three years promised in the proposed 2014 provincial budget?

We have worked hard to be recognized in a budget with a substantial investment. We need to ensure that all parties agree with the investment.

Please read the attached election package and print and share the #EndTheWait fact sheet with candidates. Ask them if they will support investment in people with developmental disabilities. Tell them why this investment is important to you and your family.

Download the ecard and send to your local candidates, as well as post on your website and social media pages.

        You tell them Jenna!
So far I have only heard from the PC Party and here is what they said:
Here is part of what our Million Jobs Plan says regarding individuals with disabilities on page 11:

“Move quickly to connect employers to people with disabilities to develop more opportunities and to reduce barriers that exist in the workplace. Expand post-secondary education for people with disabilities, so they can develop job-ready skills. When it comes to people with disabilities, we have a moral and an economic responsibility to focus on their abilities and not just on what holds them back”

        Good start!

I also saw their TV Commicals about out Million Jobs Plan. I noticed they didnt say anything about Move quickly to connect employers to people with disabilities to develop more opportunities and to reduce barriers that exist in the workplace. Expand post-secondary education for people with disabilities, so they can develop job-ready skills. When it comes to people with disabilities, we have a moral and an economic responsibility to focus on their abilities and not just on what holds them back” for young adults and youth with disabilties in their ads and sector. I recommend everyone to vote for Liberal John Tori who is a Community Living Toronto Supporter. Thank you Bonnie.
