Does anyone have any input on an autistic adult getting a membership with Autism Ontario? What benefits might there be to this (e.g. meet ups, recreational events)? Or are the members generally non autistic parents of autistic children, meaning that an adult on the spectrum might be out of place at events?

      Thanks for any insight.

Hi there, Autism Ontario here. Thank you for your question.

Membership opportunities at Autism Ontario are a bit different from accessing resources/supports for adults at Autism Ontario.

If you visit our membership link, you may see the details of what membership provides, but you do not need to be a member of Autism Ontario to access resources/supports from Autism Ontario.

If you are interested, it may be helpful to subscribe to Autism Ontario’s monthly adult-specific e-newsletter. We strive to post current information, news, opportunities, employment information and research involving adults throughout Ontario. You can do so at this link:

If you are looking for resources or events in your area, please feel free to contact Autism Ontario provincial office at 416-246-9592 about adult services – its free and no membership is required. Thanks!

Thank you. I would be looking for recreational events for adults in the Toronto region. I do subscribe to the newsletter.
