I am a woman in my mid-twenties looking to find 2 other female roommates for future consideration – ideally to live together in a condo building or townhouse. I am hoping to move out within the next year. I prefer somewhere with access to the subway or transit and am considering downtown, Yonge and Eglinton, or along the Bloor/Danforth subway line. I am currently partnering with LIGHTS to help me achieve this goal.
About me;
I am a social person, however, I enjoy a bit of quiet time each day. I have not lived on my own before, however I have an independent routine in my family home, and I have completed the Trying It on For Size (TIFS) program through L’Arche. I can cook, clean and do laundry for myself, I also can take transit to and from my job and my various extracurriculars (dance class, Zumba/fitness classes).I enjoy watching Disney Channel tv shows, going to the movies and eating at restaurants. In my alone time I read books, colour in my colouring books, listen to pop music and write in my journal. I am okay with pets if they are quiet.
My family will visit me from time to time, and I am okay with your family visiting too. I need my family to help me with schedule, emails and finances. I will be hiring a support worker for grocery trips, various errands and preparing larger meals. Maybe they will help organize and schedule tasks related to my independent living (e.g. cleaning).
My Ideal Roommate:
I am looking for a confident, unstoppable, social roommate. Someone who has similar interests to me because I want to be able to cook and watch movies together on some nights. It would also be nice if we could clean together and buy groceries or run errands together. But I will go to work and my gym classes alone. I enjoy having a drink on weekends and special occasions, but I do not smoke.
I am looking for women who are willing to create a plan together and ultimately coordinate with my family in a rental agreement. I hope they are interested in sharing support worker costs and will help manage the ongoing responsibilities associated with our new home.
