Yes, all the messaging about Passport and SSAH for adults merging together is only for 2012-13. No news on what will happen for the 2013-14 year.
I went to the open house and it currently is supporting people who need a lot of support. That was in March so it may have since changed…
February 29, 2012 at 10:40 am in reply to: Helping parents survive and thrive the trials and tribulations of their disabled child. #17973Hi Heather! I work with Laura. You may also check out the community participation activities conversation under Community Supports and Activities as I’m looking for feedback from families.
I’m going to the open house to find out more about their fee for service activities.
I’m hoping that everyone has subscribed to this conversation and I can get more feedback on activities that are of interest to young adults and their families. Thanks.
Karyn is going to join our meeting on february 29th. I’ll send the meeting invitation out.
Kimberly, you said that you attended the last open house for Enhanced Day Program. What did you think?
Has anyone connected with Karyn Farber regarding the list of activities? I’d like her to have a look at it.
So, rec and volunteer opportunities…any recurring activities that youget a lot of requests for? What about job development and readiness courses?
Do you find people are looking for full days or would prefer to select by activity?
Community Junction calendar of activities is not online, though Michelle MacDonald (Supervisor) is exploring a link to Community Living Toronto’s website. Please contact Michelle to access the calendar for now. There’s a lot of great fee for service activities there. We really need a link to the various calendar of activities at Community Junction, Creative Village, Foster’s, Victoria Village Hub. It would certainly be helpful for you to have access to that information for anyone with community participation funding. I will follow-up with Public Relations.
What types of activites do you find people with funding are looking for?
Let’s stay in contact with each other as Passport and SSAH merges. Ana at FST has talked about bringing together the Passport Task Group together one more time to update everyone on this merge. I will follow-up with her.
Are you offering any of fee for service activities to families? Community Junction has a new booklet of activities out for the winter. What about Creative Village and the Victoria Village Hub?
