I disagree with our goverment moving young adults with disabilties into a senior home to live. It is way different if young adults with disabilties who are working in a senior home. It is like living with your Grandparents do you know anyone with disabilties and families who has experienceses living with a grandparent or death? What is our goverment thinking this is suicide. Why would young adults have to live like this? Think about it!! I think we have accessible supportive a care barrier free in Ontario than United States Of America. Do you think young adults with disabilties in America would want to move to Toronto because we have better health care system
I am interested Laura I just wanted to know about the date.
Hello Jenny Yes I have thought what it is like to live at home I live with my Stepfather My Mom and my dog Pal. I rather live with roommates I dont really like being alone. I only two friends a guy and a girl i have spoked to my mother about this and told me that she is not comftitible living with my guy friend. My mom would want me to have a female roommate. Yesterday with support with my mom on the phone I wanted to invite a friend on September 20 for a sleepover and it seems like she isnt ready moving out with me. My Mom would like us to practice what it is like to live with each other. She is really nervious because I have a small dog in my family home. I am going to the Lights Networking Metting with Laura and meeting with 10 families on September 15 in a email directly. I have a dad who lives in Barrie

Travelling On My Own
Community Living Toronto’s Ambassador Jenna Martinuzzi took the TTC on her own for the first time this morning. Here, she shares her experience:
Today, do you know how I got to my job at Community Living Toronto at 20 Spadina? I took TTC on my own for the very first time. I bet you wonder how I did it?
I took the bus to the Finch Subway and got on the subway going South. Before I got on the subway, I texted my coworker that I was getting on.
When I got to Bloor Station I had to switch to go to Spadina. This is a very busy station. I got mixed up and I came upstairs outside at Bloor Station, but I found my way back in and down to the Bloor trains. I asked someone on the Bloor train if this takes me to Community Living Toronto at Bloor and Spadina and they said yes.
When I got to the office and to my desk I was excited to tell everyone that I did it on my own. They all smiled and gave me high fives and said, way to go. They said they were proud of me and knew I could do it. I almost forgot to call my mom and tell her I made it. She was worried. She called a coworker to check up on me.
I learned a lot today. It is great to ask people questions like what trains to get on when traveling on the subway because you are surrounded by a lot of nice, helpful people on transit in Toronto.
Some of the things I did to make sure I was going the right way was to ask other riders if this the right train. I also looked on my I-Phone app for the map in between stops. The App is called My Toronto and has a map with all the routes and all of the stops
I got there on my own and it felt great!
talking about cell phone plans it’s just cheaper not to buy a plan. It’s different if you have a very rich family. Could Choices Change Lives help with cell phone plans also getting a free I-Phone5C/S

PrintThis is a first step in their effort to elevate the voices of children and youth with special needs.
In partnership with the Youth Advisory Committee, they have created a website that will allow children and youth to tell their story. They want to hear:
•What the world would look like if all children with special needs were supported to realize their full potential?
•How would the world be different than it is right now, if that happened?
•What would you like Irwin Elman, the Provincial Advocate for Children and Youth, to know about how to make the lives of children and youth with special needs living in Ontario better?Children and youth who are able, are encouraged to share their stories directly using the I Have Something to Say website.
Children and youth who might like or need to communicate in ways other than writing are encouraged to do so -a piece of art, videos, songs, e-books — whatever works best for you and inspires you to express themselves.
Many children and youth will need help to raise their voices. We are counting on you to support them.
