Speaking out seems to have helped this time…

This could be a great job opportunity, especially for someone with experience in food services (perhaps Tim Hortons or other fast food restaurants) or in maintenance. Thanks for letting us know about it.
dmurrayParticipantThis is really cool. Has anyone downloaded it and tried it out? Let us know what you think about it.
dmurrayParticipantThanks Bonnie for this update.
For those who do not know what the Welcome Policy is…. The City of Toronto’s Welcome Policy provides a fee subsidy to help low income individuals and families who live in Toronto access City-operated recreation programs. If you are approved for Welcome Policy, you will receive an annual financial subsidy that can be spent on any of the wide variety of high-quality recreation programs offered by the City throughout the year.

The Learning together module on ConnectABILITY has an article that you may find useful. It has some suggestions on how to help your child join in play.
Here is the link: Joining in playDoes anyone else have any ideas?
Thanks
dmurrayParticipantThis sounds like a great program. Thank you Kathy for letting us know about it.
Does anyone know of other programs that are available?
You might also want to complete the community activities survey that a group from community agencies who offer community participation supports is conducting to find out what types of activities people are looking for. Here is the link to the survey: https://connectability.ca/2012/…..ies-survey
June 1, 2012 at 8:40 am in reply to: Invitation to Participate in Consultations for People with Disabilities in Ontario #17982dmurrayParticipantThank you for sharing this information, Bonnie.
If anyone knows of someone who would be interested in sharing their thoughts, it is easy to send them the information. Just copy the url to this page ( https://connectability.ca/conne…..in-ontario) and send it to them in an email. They, of course would need to log in or join to get access to Connected Families.dmurrayParticipantWhat strikes me is that even with the daunting task in front of them, Graham and Susan know where they need to get and are doing something to achieve it. There is an end goal and a direction to take to get there. That in itself breeds hope, purpose and a will to succeed.
dmurrayParticipantFrances, if you are asking about the Community Participation Listing, Karyn is aware of it and has forwarded programs to me to include on the listing.
dmurrayParticipantThe Community Participation listing can be used to list the hub, location and list of regularly provided programs. However, it can not provide an up to date monthly or weekly calendar of events that are being planned. dsto.com used to be able to post these. I believe that DSO tr is planning to incorporate dsto.com and hopefully this functionality will again be available.
The Community Participation Listing is kept updated by the ConnectABILITY team. It is updated once per year through the use of students, volunteers or student summer employment.
